Publishing Write API

Release the approved version to the intended destination, with a recovery path.

Publishing is a boundary between internal work and public content. The final operation should know which version was approved, where it belongs, and what success looks like. Do not let a successful generation request silently stand in for all three decisions.

Create a visible preflight

Show the title, destination, slug, media, release state, and approved revision before writing. Stop on missing required information. Keep credential access limited to the controlled publishing component, not the article source or a public browser script.

Reconcile uncertain outcomes

Save the result of a confirmed write and use the destination identifier for edits. When the response is interrupted, inspect the destination before retrying creation. Document a recovery procedure that an operator can follow without guessing which copy is authoritative.

Accept the release when

The public page matches the approved version, related listings and feeds agree, and the publication can be corrected or rolled back through a known process. Automation should make this boundary clearer, not less visible.
