AI LLM Model Write API
Evaluate model configurations against the editorial work you actually need.
Model selection should answer a defined task, not crown a permanent winner. Write down the content type, source material, required format, operating constraints, and review process before comparing configurations. Treat cost and quality as properties of the complete workflow rather than a single impressive response.
Use representative and difficult briefs
Include ordinary tasks and a few failure cases: missing evidence, conflicting terminology, a rigid structure, and a long reference packet. Describe acceptable behavior for each. Keep a separate test set that has not been repeatedly used to tune the prompt.
Score different failures separately
Assess factual support, coverage, instruction following, formatting, and editing effort. Make serious defects visible outside an average score. Record the model identifier and settings actually used, then repeat relevant tests after changes.
You can explain why the configuration fits the task and identify the conditions under which it should be reconsidered. No invented benchmark or universal ranking is needed to make a practical decision.
