Ghost CMS Write API

Preserve the editorial handoff when importing content into Ghost.

A Ghost content integration needs a deliberate choice of representation and a clear policy for edits after import. Start with a small draft and inspect the result in the actual theme. WriteAPI.com provides independent guidance, not a hosted Ghost installation or official integration product.

Test conversion with representative content

Create a fixture with paragraphs, headings, links, lists, and the special blocks your publication uses. Keep the original source available so a reviewer can locate any conversion difference. Prefer a small, well-understood content format over arbitrary markup from several incompatible sources.

Resolve ownership and attribution

Define who owns the draft after it reaches Ghost and how later source changes are reviewed. Map authors and tags deliberately instead of leaving attribution to an accidental fallback. Save destination identifiers and keep uncertain import outcomes visible.

Accept the import when

An editor can inspect and continue editing the draft without lost structure or silent overwrites. Publication and any associated distribution should remain separate decisions from successful import.
